Expedition Log

Nov. 22

We departed Camp 3 in downbabord direction. At the end of the day we found a very narrow pass that lead us out of the massisse. The valley seemed to have been inhabited in the pass. In a cave we have explored, we found carved stones that were laid on the cave floor. Some were broken. We brought two of the stones. These seemed to be the most interesting. One depicts what seems to be a winged god. Below that stone, laid another with a set of engraved characters. The language is not known.

Nov. 27

We established Camp 4 today. We are near to the babord borders of Olissia. We will follow the course of this river, upstream, and we will go upwards, because there's a wide passageway that may lead us to the Caldera region.

Nov. 28(night)

A sound of rolling thunder awake us, this night. We do not know what it is.

Nov. 29

We found out what the sound was. It was the sound of thousands of migrating Karadassos. This is the Valley of Trebuc. We will follow the migrating animals.

Nov. 30

We followed the animals to what seems to be a narrow pass. The pass is very long and was obviously carved by a water stream. It is 58 Km long and the walls on both sides are vertical. In some areas, the passage is as narrow as a men's arms stretched. thousands of Karadassos are passing through there. We must wait our turn to pass.

Dec. 3

We waited 4 days for all the Karadassos to pass. There's just a few of them that are still crossing, but they don't seem to care about us much. We are being escorted by a pack of Karadassos.

Dec. 4

By the end of the day, we established Camp 5. The Valley turns left and downwards. The animals have settled there. There's a good chance to study their habits. We are traveling upwards to the pass we see ahead, tomorrow.

Dec. 5

We crossed the pass, and we entered a plateau. The flora here is completely different from other areas. Even the fauna is strange. One of our carriers was stung by a piri-piri and died immediately.

Dec. 6

We followed the stream and climbed to a mesa. We can see the lake from here. We know we are close to the Caldera Basin.

Dec. 7

There it is! The Caldera Basin. We can see it from a kilometer away!!! It is huge! We are going to study it tomorrow, as soon as we arrive at the site. The crew is all excited about it...

Dec. 10

We have been studying the basin for the last hree day and we have concluded our study. We are waiting for our rescue team to arrive from Zion. Our food supply is almost over and we need medical care. I don't know if we will survive this trial, but I leave these notes as a testimony of this great area. Surely this is the wildest and greatest area in Alliance.
